How does coworking work?

How does coworking actually work?

We turn to the expert of this topic – Martin Paterson. Who works as a Community host here at Entreprenörsgatan. According to Martin, coworking can be explained as followed:
Coworking works by companies sharing common workspaces and facilities. This means that different companies can rent office space while having access to common areas such as meeting rooms, kitchens and lounges. Kitchenettes and kitchen utensils are also shared. This is a flexible solution for companies that want to avoid long contracts and at the same time want to be able to scale up or down as needed.

What types of flexible office solutions are available?

Usually, business hotels offer flexible office space both in the form of office rooms and free workspaces. Depending on the size of the premises.

What might a typical arrangement look like?

A typical arrangement involves the company renting an office space and simultaneously using flexible office space in common areas.
Renting an office space gives the company a fixed base to work from, while flexible office spaces allow for extra workspace when needed. This is particularly beneficial for companies with part-time or hourly employees, as it ensures that everyone in the company has access to a workspace even on busy days.

What is a satellite office?

A satellite office means that companies rent a smaller office space in an external location, usually near an existing business or where staff live.
“Satellite offices are ideal for companies that need to be present in several locations at the same time or want to reduce travel for their staff,” explains Martin. By locating the office close to where your staff are, you can reduce travel time and increase productivity.
Because it’s smaller and more cost-effective than renting an entire office space, satellite offices are an attractive solution for businesses that want to have a presence in multiple locations without having to invest in large and expensive premises

How does contracts work in coworking?

Coworking often offers short-term leases and flexible terms to suit the needs of different businesses. This means that companies can adapt their workplace to changing circumstances, whether it’s growth or downsizing. If your company grows, you can compensate with office space in shared areas, and if you shrink, you can often scale back your membership.
“We understand that companies need to be able to react quickly to changes in their business,” says Martin. By offering flexible contracts, we can help them do just that. I hope this gave you a better insight into how coworking works in general but also with us. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions or concerns.
