Dahl Agenturer´s showroom in Gothenburg - carpets for projects and interior design

When you enter our destination at Södra Larmgatan 2, you are greeted by warm textiles, designer lamps and carpets in all their forms. Inside the door is Dahl Agenturer’s showroom – a family business that has been importing carpets on an agency basis since 1976.

The company was founded by Arne Dahl and has been run since 2000 by his children, Linda and Alexander. Today, Dahl Agenturer has three showrooms around Sweden – in Stockholm, Malmö and here in Gothenburg. In the Gothenburg showroom, it is Agneta Stjärnlöf who welcomes visitors. We had a coffee with her to hear more about Dahl Agenturer and her role in the company.

Can you tell us briefly about yourself and your role at Dahl Agencies?

I work at Dahl Agencies with carpets and projects. A lot of it is about helping clients find the right solution – both stylish, functional and something that fits the project budget.

What drives you in your work?

People and projects that have made a difference. I have gotten to know many of my closest friends through this job in one way or another. Even when you realize that a carpet actually makes a difference, carpets make people happy!

How would you describe Dahl Agencies to someone who has never heard of you?

We specialize in carpets and work a lot with projects. Quality, design and long-term solutions are our thing. And that we work personally and with commitment.

Carpet trends – sustainable materials and timeless design

Agneta goes on to say that the carpet industry is changing, with trends coming and going. Today, many customers prefer timeless to trendy. Durable materials, calm colors and carpets that can handle everyday life are in focus. Right now, there is also a lot of structure in the carpets, along with an increased focus on sustainability.

Working with carpet and interior designers

– A typical working day for me is very varied. Meetings with architects one minute, contractors the next – sometimes from completely different parts of the country. I also have a small showroom to look after here and that takes its toll.

Do you have a favorite part of the workday?
– Absolutely. Being part of the creative process together with interior designers, and meeting all the different people – from flooring contractors in Norrland to Skåne, to industry-renowned architects. That’s what makes the job fun.
